Recently, a small group of burger lovers from the TC Burger Club went on an adventure in Inver Grove Heights to try four of the eight participating Great Neighbors’ Food Fight restaurant burger offerings. Here is what they had to say about their first stop:

Pork & Pineapple Burger

Char-grilled burger layered with Swiss cheese, grilled pineapple, pulled pork and soy garlic port sauce

Just east of Concord Blvd, nestled among the boats on the Mississippi shoreline, lies a burger haven that has created a flavor experience worth your attention. Walking into the Mississippi Pub on a cold winter night, our group noticed two things: the enchanting lights of Gotham City [from the refinery across the river] and the delicious smell of char-grilled beef.

Be warned, the “pork & pineapple burger” is big and messy, but that didn’t bother any of us…as the main culprit of the messiness is a soy garlic port sauce that pulls the unique flavors together. Even those in our group who don’t like sweet things on their meat thought the grilled pineapple added a nice flavor.

We will be back for this burger!

P.S. Make sure to get a basket of their deliciously seasoned fries.
