Recently, a small group of burger lovers from the TC Burger Club went on an adventure in Inver Grove Heights to try four out of the eight highlighted burgers in this year’s Great Neighbors’ Food Fight. Here is what they had to say about their second stop:

Jalapeño Popper Juicy Lucy

Stuffed with jalapeños and pepper jack cheese, topped with jalapeño cream cheese and served on a toasted sourdough bun with sriracha on the side

The “jalapeño popper juicy lucy” at Jersey’s is stuffed with jalapeños and pepper jack cheese AND topped with a jalapeño cream cheese, served on a toasted sourdough bun (with a side of sriracha in case it’s not spicy enough for you). It is creamy and gooey times 10, but for anyone worried about all the spice, we agreed it has more of an “accessible heat” – thanks to a buffer provided by all the cheeses.

The unsung hero of this burger is the delicious and durable sourdough bun, which boasts the size and sponginess to handle everything in between. And unlike most juicy lucys, the cheese magically stayed inside the burger instead of pouring out.

After enjoying this one, burger clubber Luke offered this poetic review:

Meat was good. Bun was fun. Burger makes my nose run.

Well said, Luke.

Might we suggest eating a light lunch on the day you plan to punch your Food Fight card at Jersey’s; or better yet, go for lunch and you won’t need to eat for the rest of the day!
