Is training required?

Neighbors holds group volunteer orientations twice a month. After you apply, you will be given information regarding signing up for an orientation. All volunteers are asked to complete an orientation before their first shift. Duty-specific volunteer training will be done by the volunteer supervisor in each department.

When is Neighbors, Inc. open?

Our office is open Monday-Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and 1-4:30 p.m. For food shelf appointments, we are open 8:15-11:30 a.m. and 1-3:30 p.m. and have limited walk-in appointments; we accept 20 people for our morning appointments and 15 people for our afternoon appointments for our food shelf.

What services does Neighbors provide?

Food, clothing, household items, furniture, emergency cash assistance, transportation to medical and county appointments, holiday gifts for children and seniors, summer meals for children and social programs for adults with developmental disabilities.

Who does Neighbors serve?

Neighbors serves residents of northern Dakota County: South St. Paul, West St. Paul, Inver Grove Heights, Mendota, Mendota Heights, Lilydale and Sunfish Lake. Neighbors, Inc. provides tangible outlets for the inherent goodness in the hearts of our volunteers.
