Neighbors holds group volunteer orientations twice a month. After you apply, you will be given information regarding signing up for an orientation. All volunteers are asked to complete an orientation before their first shift. Duty-specific volunteer training will be done by the volunteer supervisor in each department.

Neighbors, Inc. has implemented a preparedness plan for all aspects of our organization - including health and safety protocols for volunteers, staff and those we serve. Neighbors regularly reviews and updates its health policies and protocols based on recommendations from the county, state and CDC.
Unfortunately, Neighbors is unable to provide transportation to and from our food shelf at this time. We have other options we can suggest. Please call (651) 455-5000 and ask to speak to an intake worker.
Our office is open Monday-Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and 1-4:30 p.m. For food shelf appointments, we are open 8:15-11:30 a.m. and 1-3:30 p.m. and have limited walk-in appointments; we accept 20 people for our morning appointments and 15 people for our afternoon appointments for our food shelf.

Neighbors does not have opportunities available for court-mandated or diversion program volunteers.
Most of our volunteer opportunities are within our office hours (M-F, 9:00 a.m - 4:00 p.m.), with the exception of some extended hours in the Clothes Closet and some off-site fundraising events.
Volunteer commitments are flexible and ongoing.
