Supportive Services

Transportation

Rides are provided to persons who have no other way of keeping medical or dental visits, therapy sessions, counseling sessions or similar appointments by volunteer drivers using their personal cars. There is always a need for additional volunteers. 1,610 trips were provided, totaling 21,240 miles in 2007.

Tele-Care

Provides a daily reassurance call to people living alone. Through the Tele-Care program daily reassurance calls are provided to people living alone. These calls are made 365 days a year. If the Tele-Care member does not answer, the volunteer caller has an assigned neighbor, relative or friend check on the person. In 2007 9,630 daily reassurance calls were made; volunteer hours recorded totaled 900.

Community Service
